3 Secrets to Fat Triggers!

Want to know what they are? Our waistline sure does!

Obesity Rising

The news is out: America is getting fatter. According to the Center for Disease Control, the 2017 statistics revealed that one-third of Americans are now obese. That’s not just overweight, but hugely overweight. With the US population now at over 300 million, there are now over 100 million obese people.
This is not only bad in itself, but it is not just adults who are affected. Our kids are becoming overweight, too!

More than 15% of kids aged between 6 and 19 are now overweight!

Why Now?

Why is this happening? Are we really all that lazy?

True, part of the problem is our increasingly sedentary lifestyles. But another massive problem is our food!
The American diet is one of the worst in the world. We eat foods that are high in sugar, high in carbs, high in toxins, high in synthesized products, high in trans fats and saturated fats, and lots of processed foods. These are all foods that our body doesn’t need!

The result? We’re not only becoming more overweight, but sicker as a result. Chronic health conditions such as cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, cancer, autoimmune….you name it, our diet has done it.

The thing is, we’re not always consciously aware of what’s causing us to eat more. Sure, we know things fast foods, deep-fried foods and sugar sodas aren’t good for us. However, those not the only foods causing us health problems.

We see, our foods are laden with ‘fat triggers!

Triggers are foods that are actually making us eat more and triggering our appetites to want food that is not healthy!

There are also foods that are converting what we eat into fat. If we’re already battling weight challenges, we need to take action and avoid these foods.

In fact, by cutting out these foods we could start to shed pounds almost immediately!

# 1   Rancid or Denatured Oils

Most vegetable cooking oils are manufactured using processing methods that completely destroy the molecules in the oil’s structure. This involves degumming, refining, bleaching and deodorizing.

As a result, the oil becomes an “inert” substance. Manufacturers make inert substances because they last longer on our shelves.

Inert substances also have valuable nutrients removed! In rancid or denatured oil the nutrients that are removed are antioxidants, phytosterols, chlorophyll, lecithin, and other beneficial molecules as well.

Even more alarming is the fact that up to 1% of the oil molecules themselves are damaged to the point that they become extremely toxic to our body on a cellular level!

The molecules are so altered and distorted, our body can no longer recognize them as food. Consequently, our body does not feel any satisfaction when we consume foods cooked in this oil.

Basically, we injured our cells, but we are still hungry, even though we are consuming vast numbers of calories.  As a result, we keep eating.

#2  Gluten

Bread used to be a healthy, staple part of our traditional diet. Actually for thousands of years bread was a common staple of everyone’s diet!

Unfortunately, decades of manufacturing and changes to the way crops are grown has totally altered the wheat that is now used to make bread!

Now we have a nutritionally bankrupt source. Crops of today are believed to contain much higher levels of gluten than the wheat crops of our grandparents’ generation.

Gluten contains a substance called zonulin, which has been linked to inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract! Zonulin has also been connected with diabetes!

Another substance in gluten is lectin.  Lectin can trigger resistance to leptin. Leptin is nicknamed, the “hunger hormone”.

Combine gut inflammation and all the empty calories in wheat products, and it is a sure recipe for sluggish metabolism and unrelenting food cravings!

# 3 Sugar-Free

We have all heard that sugar is bad. In contrast, it would seem that anything that is without sugar should be fine, right? Whole natural foods that have natural glucose as part of the food, like all fruits and some vegetables, carrots, beets, etc are not without sugar. Yet these foods are healthy and good.

Throughout any supermarket, we are bombarded with “sugar-free” labels and uncountable foods. These foods are the topic of this section.

Diet foods and sugar-free drinks still need to have some sort of sweetener, otherwise people wouldn’t buy them. That is why most of them contain aspartame, sucralose and other synthetic sugars.

These artificial sweeteners contain zero calories and do not have sugar in them. However, they are even worse for our health.
